The journey.....The road.....The path.....
The humble beginnings of my artistic fulfillment. Keeping it short and simple I started doing music seriously at 13. Fell in love officially with music when my father (also a singer) first played D'angelo's "Brown Sugar" album when i was 5. SInce then I've been hooked to inner melodies of music in my sould. Music runs through my bloodline most of family does music.
I'm was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1991 of Noverember 27th so my birthday lands on thanksgiving every so often, so I'm a thankful and giving person. The people who created me would be Danita Carroll(Madre) and Hershel Reed I or Sr.(Pops) whatever comes first I guess.
Didn't drop a mixtape until April 2011 even though I've started my music career earlier. Got lots of love and recognition over "Good Music" the mixtape was kind of raw and not mixed well people loved it. I'm calling it the prototype. The Good Music Mixtape Prototype.
Another extension to my artistic expression is my internship with THEartHYPE. I do photography, videography, and graphic design for the company. At the rate I'm going I will be an official team member before I graduate college.
I'm in school full-time at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Metropolitan Community College as a dual enrolled student with a 3.2 GPA. Majoring in business marketing and planning to release my clothing line I've worked on since middle school.
Right now I'm living out my dreams trying to include others into my weird world of a focused yet spontaneous life.

Humble Beginings...
I wrote my very first rhyme in my fourth grade class at Druid Hill elementary. My old friend Devin Cook was the won who taught me how even begin to rap. I look back on it has a milestone for any artist to actually begin doing what they love. The verse I wrote didn't even rhyme and but the grammar was perfect (Laugh Out Loud). SInce then I tried to rap and I felt everyone was so advanced so I just wrote here and there.
I realized I could sing a little bit when my father encouraged me to sing with him and my uncles. They had their own gospel group and did very well but responsibilities made their success shortlived. I practiced singing a lot when I turned 13 but I only sung to myself.
At 13, I met a local up & coming producer "Northside Marlee." He was just starting off but I could tell he was going to be great at his craft so we stuck together. He became my official producer on my original projects. A year later N. Marlee introduced me to his co-producer "DJ Dragg" and their company called "88Fresh" was produced. 88Fresh are the official producers of my future and current orginal projects. | ![]() |
I stayed in the shadows trying to truly find what type of music I wanted to create. I was formally Sky Ree the singer with ability to rap but I was focused on singing just as my father and mother did. I later discovered the calling to simply do both. I rap more than I sing because I originally started of rapping in the first place. So I changed the wording of my name to "Scky Rei" and became an improved artist.

In 2010, I started "Songrighters" a music group dedicated to good music made in the right way. It is not a label or nothing but like that but a connection for artist to network, collaborate, and appreciate each others art in music. |
